Birthday Party Ideas for Kids

Jungle Safari Theme

Recently my son attended a Jungle Safari birthday party for a friend who was turning six.

The living room was decorated with vines (twisted paper bags) and leaves (green construction paper), and many stuffed animals strategically placed.

The first activity, arts and crafts, was decorating straw safari hats with plastic bugs, using double sided tape. The children then wore the hats for the duration of the party.

Party games were: throw the sticky rubber frog at the construction paper tree on the wall, and a safari treasure hunt in the dark basement play room.

Lunch consisted of Monkey Food (cubed melon and pineapple chunks), Snake Eggs (grapes), Tiger Meat (meatballs), Parrot Wings (Tyson Chicken Wings), Hippo Toes (small cocktail franks), Crocodile teeth (oven-fried potatoes), and a Snake-Shaped cake (a Bundt cake cut in half, and attached in an s-shape on a platter, then decorated to look like a snake)!

This was a fun and creative idea that the kids all enjoyed!
