Registered Offenders in Your Town
Did you know that you can obtain information online regarding registered offenders in your area?
You can access the appropriate site in two ways: go to www.mass.gov/sorb/ and conduct a search, or go to www.town.billerica.ma.us ,click on public safety, then click on the offender registry link. The Billerica public safety site also has a link to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
These sites will give you information on the number of Level 2 and 3 offenders in your town (at last count Billerica showed 36 Level 2 and 6 Level 3), as well as Detailed information on the Level 3 offenders (including residential and work addresses, description and identifying information, a picture if available, and conviction information). You can also obtain information about Level 3 offenders currently in violation of the law.
The Level system is based upon dangerousness and likelihood for re-offense. Level 1 is considered 'Low Risk', Level 2 'Moderate Risk' and Level 3 'High Risk'.
If you want more detailed information than you find online, you must contact your local police department. In Billerica, you may contact Sergeant Gerald Roche.
